There was once an actress, freewheeling,
Her days were impulsive, appealing.
She got up the duff and that was enough
to force her to work in the evening.
Welcome to Audio by Eve, a little piece of soundproof heaven where I can make magic in the dark any time of the day or night, irrespective of the erratic sleep patterns or wild cries of a certain little bundle of joy.
I am Eloise Oxer, the voice of Eve, and after 10 years of breathing life into words in studios all over town I’m thrilled to announce the arrival of one of my very own.
As a NIDA-trained actor and an RMIT-trained writer I have an extensive collection of crafts at the ready. Over the last 20 years I’ve worked across film, TV, theatre and cabaret, alongside some of Australia’s most devoted and uncelebrated playhouse creatures in pokey warehouses and makeshift performance spaces and for some of the country’s most renowned state companies with ensembles as illustrious as their harbour views.
My speciality this past decade has been in long-form book narration and, as a lover of language and its many musical variations, I have relished the challenges these projects provide; stamina, pace, accent variation and characterisation. Having said that, if it’s a subtle, straight performance you need, or something fast and furious, I am right at home with warm and welcoming neutral Australian, top-notch British or stars-and-stripes standard US (Mid-Atlantic). No story is too short, none too long. If it’s words you want to bring to life then – I’m pleased to tell you – you’ve come to the right place.
Of course, I am more than happy to travel to your preferred studio as your project requires and can also accommodate all your voiceover needs here in my Melbourne-based studio, be it for radio, podcast, television, film, animation, e-Learning, apps or the internet.
For those of you into gear – I work with a beautiful Australian-made Rode K2 condenser valve microphone that offers all the intimacy and presence of live performance. For voiceover samples please have a wander through my Projects page.
Thank you for taking the time to visit. Click around, have a listen, and do get in touch if you like what you hear.
With warmth and gratitude.
